I just received the first advanced photos of the latest in a new genre of high efficiency search and rescue vessels. Notice its light weight, its ability to enter shallow waters, and the small number of crew members need to man the vessel. The government figures they can deploy 50 of these low profile, high mobility vessels for every one of the old types. They can make them fast enough, and at a sufficiently low cost that every member of Congress can have one or more of these vessels named after him/herand his/her political benefactor(s).

How can you serve the people if you don't bring along the chairs?

Do you recall the expression "on your knees in high seas"? I assume that relates to a vessel of this sort. Personally, I would outfit the craft with lounge chairs. I wonder how the Vice Commander would arrange the furniture.

The photo shows the Chippendale SRV, which was awarded the government contract after comparing favorably to the MacGregor 26X in performance and stability testing.

The vessel is ordinarily equipped with up to 4 lounge/fighting chairs.

The umbrella doubles as a spinnaker.
