    F.S.: 1963 Commander in N.Y.

This one looks to be in nice shape.

Probably located not too far from me on Long Island.

This one was on EBay last fall. I remember considering it after seeing the beautiful round portholes on #105. Then I remembered my requisite "standing room below" for my next boat.

Great looking boat though! (...but then again, aren't they all?)

I thought that puppy looked familiar.

Blue Point, New York---that's not far. I could be persuaded to take a look at her.

...and I could be persuaded to persuade you to take a look!

Sheesh, and here you are with a fine vessel to call your own, yet you still roam the net looking at other boats for sale - not that I don't appreciate it, mind you, but it makes we worried I won't be able to stop looking after I get my boat!

I admit I think about how cool it'd be to have a Herreshoff 12 1/2 on a trailer for a day sail at the lake, then maybe a Typhoon when it's blowing a bit more. Then, the Ariel on the ocean for short cruises. But, for a nice day sail on the ocean with lots of friends, it'd be great to have a cockpit like the Commander...

    Naw, I can quit anytime!

I have thought about getting a little skiff to explore thin water.

Maybe a Seaford Skiff or a Melonseed

Just found this old thread. This is the Commander I purchased last summer (august 2010) it is commander 38. It had two other owners between the time it got to me, still in decent shape however there are now some soft deck spots which I will be having re-cored next season.
