1. I've got the six screws out of the base of the winch, but the winch base is still pretty solidly attached to the winch pad. Any tips on removing this? Heat gun?
2. And how about separating the winch pad from the coaming? I've removed four long wood screws, but I'm guessing it's been adhered somehow.
3. Also, the bolt coming out of the bottom of the winch pad used to through bolt it to the deck has nothing whatsoever to do with the actual winch assembly, right?

Reason: Mispelled "coaming"...

that's right it is separate from the winch .. I found it handy for clamping the coaming in a vice. It should be usable for bolting the winch base to the deck. although I haven't found evidence that the threaded rod was used for that purpose on A-231.
