    Battery placement

I have a question regarding the correct location for battery placement in my commander. I have an atomic four that takes up most of the space in engine compartment. any insight would be appreciated. Jeff

My Ariel has the batteries on a shelf way forward in the port cockpit locker. I can also get to them from inside the cabin by squirming up under the galley at the aft end of the port settee. Don't know if this is the original location or not... I'd guess with a Commander you have a lot more room in front of the motor and under the cockpit.

Pearson originally placed the batteries under the companion way steps in the Ariel. For a balance location, the battery would be better placed as far forward in the boat as possible.
