    C-281

    Hello all,

Some friends and I recently purchased Commander 281 and are moving her to Fort Mason marina in San Francisco where we live.
the boat was previously called "Galatea", and someone else wrote "Dust" over that with a sharpie. I don't know anything about the previous owners.

She seems to have been raced in the past, with modern running rigging, decent standing. Interior paint and simple electronics are good. dry bilge, no rot in the deck. rudder doesn't seem to move too much, but a diver said there was some play.
We'll be hauling her out int he next couple months, would be good to get some of those delrin rudder cups ive been reading about.
Its got a new fully battened Hogan main sail, a 70%, 90% and 150% head sail.

Im wondering if anyone had ever installed a roller furling mast head genoa and a fractional stay for hank on jibs? Ill mostly be sailing her single/short handed.

the boat needs to be painted the deck paint is in not so great condition, and old deck hardware removed. looking forward to her restoration.

Will defiantly try and make it to any fun regattas this summer like the plastic classic. and very much looking forward to day trips around Angel island.
