    Where to buy Non-Skid?

    Hello,
Newbie to your great board and site here.

I'm looking to re do my boat's deck and I'm in search of the non-skid fabric, not the additive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Alfredo

    Welcome Aboard.

Here is a link to an article that reviews non skid products, three of which are the type you're thinking of. There are others.

I understand that Treadmaster comes in different non skid patterns, some are less coarse (hard on the butt) than others.

I'm contemplating this project, so I hope you can keep us advised.

The non-skid used on the J-Boats (and now on #76) is based on a bondo-like product that is filled with long fiber stuff (that's a technical term). I've found it to be a phenomenal gripper. The product is rolled on (after masking the smooth sections of the deck). Since I was not there when it was applied, that's about the extent of my knowledge. Next time I'm at the yard, I will ask the paint guys for more product information.

    Smile Thanks!

    Thanks for your answers.
I will read the article and do some research.

You guys/gals have a great site here. I'm looking at an early Ariel this weekend for a friend. In Long Island NY. I'll make sure to mention this site to him. I've already made a print out of the "MAINTENANCE ALERTS!" page to take with us.
I belive it's hull # 17 . Please don't quote me on that. But it is one of the earlier ones. I'll take some pictures to share.

    Thanks again!

Hey, great! If he makes the buy, please encourage him to register the boat and join the association.
