From the Race Committee’s viewpoint, the starting line appeared to pose no problems (see graphic in post announcing the race). Both yachts were able to locate the line via VHF radio contact with the Race Committee on shore.

The faster elapsed time around Treasure Island, as compared with that of Angel Island, looks to be a positive outcome that helps to keep the event “fun.”

Next year’s Hoppe will likely take place at the same location. There is, however, some discussion about a start near Sausalito for a possible race around Angel Island again. The Race Committee will be studying the issue over the winter.
