I was making some forms out of this blue, dense styrofoam this morning and I was wondering what adhesive to use to stick the layers together.
Anybody knows what works? Any ideas?
Thanks![]()

howzitgoin Tony,
3M makes a specific styrofoam glue spray in a can - crafts supply.
I used regular contact cement when I made a form out of urethane insulation form. Maybe a waterbourn cement would work on styrofoam.
Bet Titebond yellow glue would work if you have the time to let it set.
Barge cement?, Goop glue?, try anything without a solvent.
Let us know what works for you.

I never thought of contact cement. I think I push that stuff tothe back of my mind because of all the times I stuck stuff where I didn't want it. Well, I used a hot glue gun and it worked fine. First time out of the package since Christmas!!!
What are we looking at? Model for a 767 jet?
Or the housing for thr instrument array at the aft end of the 'hood?
Male or Female? I think it's just as much work either way!!!![]()
If you use contact cement, better use the water base stuff. The other kind will melt your styro into gunk. Trust me! I did it last week!
Kent
Double stick carpet tape .
you can use "WeldWood" Contact cement. It'll take two layers on each side and test a piece to make sure you're not dealing with styrofoam (that will dissolve). What you're using looks more like Precision Board (PB) rather than Styrofoam
