Thought I might revive this thread , I purchased an Electra parts boat today in Flowery Branch GA. It came from a boat salvage individual who scraps out boats on a regular bases. He has a yard full of mast, sails, and all types of boating equipment. He doesn't advertise at all, everything is done word of mouth but he did give me permission to post his name and number here. His name is Allen and his phone number is :770*912*808six. To give you an example of his prices, the entire rigging mast ,boom and all standing and running rigging was $250.00. The boat hull less the coamings, tiller, sails, water tank, sink and of course the keel which was whacked off for the lead was $250.00. This boat also came with what appears to be new cushions for the entire interior they are 5 inches thick taper cut to go right against the hull covered in gray cloth on top and vinyl on the bottom. He tried to sell this boat in sail away condition for $1500 and couldn't get an offer, so off to the chopping block it went, sad really. He invited me back to pilfer ( his words) through his entire inventory for anything else I may need.
Man, what I'd give to have a salvage yard like that with in 5 hours drive from here... I think we need a new boom extrusion and there are a lot of sources out there but I'm hesitate to pay the price for shipping right now. Not that they don't deserve it. Just too tight on cash. I'd rather make a day of it and pilfer all that we need in one stop.

Tony,
I've got a few old booms or broken masts that would work for you, as well metric ****-tons of used hardware and odds and ends. Come on down to the cities anytime and pilfer away! I'd love to donate some of my junk to the cause.

p.s. I'm having an open house on 4/9 or wait until summer and we'll sail too.
Can this life get any better?!?!
Thanks, Mike. That is a generous offer and a veritable dream come true! I will email you.

Hey Mike! Can I come too?! (I only wish I could... you know what they say; One man's junk is another's treasure!)
How is the Princess? Visiting the Bay anytime soon? I was out for a bit in the rain yesterday... by myself! A bit wet, but plenty of room for 'visitors'...
Rico,
By all means...anytime. I owe you a sail.
With AC34 coming up I'd advise you to be careful with off the cuff invitations.
The poor princess is sitting in a snowbank with a long list of unstarted off season projects. Been too busy to even look at her. One of the projects is appropriate to this thread. Stripping down the mast and having it re anodized.

C227, Mike Just curious, what is going on if anything with the Ensign that went aground last summer? Rebuilding or salvage?? When I picked up the Electra I was thinking a large chunk of the hull would get you started on the rebuild, but little did I know that my wife and grandson were conspiring to make a backyard Pirate ship out of it! Well I guess that is still better than the landfill that it was destine for.
