    Hey Drew,
    How about some pictures!
    The keel should bear the great majority of the load (95%) as it is where the greatest mass is located.
    The bunks/pads should only serve to maintain lateral stability - not really bear a significant portion of the load.

    You will not get very far if you try to dangle the 2,500# lead keel pig from small supports bearing on the Fiberglass hull!

    I assume the Commander is a recent acquisition (?) If so; Congratulations! I am in the process of a restoration myself and have some pictures and other info in that thread.
