    Sail design for strickly sailing craft

    I have no engine for my Ariel by choice and my mainsail is ready for a new one. I'd like to make it and am looking for advice for a high performance cruising sail. In the past 6K miles, I've had numerous repairs around the batten pockets as that is where the main wear is. I've considered no battens, or full battens. I sail at times single handed.
