    Holding Tank

My holding tank is mounted on the starboard side under the v-berth, My holding tank cracked a few months ago. Does anyone have any suggestions on a new holding tank the will fit in it's place?

do you have the dimensions? there are several places with tanks choices on-line such as defender:

alternatively, you might want to fabricate a new one from 'glass and epoxy... that may be in my future this winter.

    Try a search....

    Mike,

Faith has a smallish 'bladder' type tank in the same space as yours, but on the port side. It is really pretty much just for show, as I don't much trust it.

I have been looking at the composting heads as an alternative... the clearance seems to be the issue since they are about 7" higher then the head in th about now (original W/C Shipmate, 40+ years old and works great).

I know some have converted their water tank to blackwater (kind of a sad thing IMHO). You might try a search, there are a few ways this has been dealt with by the brain trust here...

A-231 also has a bladder tank on the port side. It's good for about 6 gallons but it passes the required biennial inspection. I've mocked up a larger tank in cardboard that may replace the bladder (if i get around to the glass work).
