Ariel #50 is no longer for sale

I guess I should introduce myself to you guys. I'm Adam, and I bought #50 from Frank. He gave me a great deal, and I feel like I robbed the guy! Right now she's up at Indiantown Marina (a little ways west of Stuart, FL). And there she'll remain until at least late July or early August, when I'll be able to take a week or two off of work to bring her home.

Then, she comes home to Key West, where I'll be living aboard her through the winter, with hopefully frequent trips up the Keys and at least one out to the Dry Tortugas. Come spring, with the kitty stocked, I'll be heading up the East Coast, at least as far as Cape Cod, in quest of a partner in exploration (I'm pretty sure I've found her, let's see how she likes a 26' boat).

We'll be having as many adventures as we can, I believe the first one will be having my friends 8 yr. old twin daughters come down to Key West for a week (from Maine) to introduce them to living aboard, while they complete their refit of their 55' Bruce Roberts cutter... in preparation for a through-the canal move to Los Angeles.

I'm glad I've been steered to this site, looks like a great place for information and inspiration (not that Frank has left any projects waiting!)

    Oh, the places we'll go!

congratulations, you've bought a great boat. Frank did an outstanding job getting her ready for extended travel.

    cheers,

Adam, you should get the reward for smartest new Ariel owner. You bought a top notch boat, ready to go, with well documented and well executed upgrades from an owner who obviously knows his stuff. Nicely done!

You should do an Ariel/Commander tour up the East coast so we can all see the famous "Revival" in person...

Welcome aboard and fair winds .

    Nicely done Adam,

I was madly trying to figure out a way to buy Revival from Frank. I had a nice plan to haul the boat up to James Baldwin in Georgia for some rigging work and a wind vane and then I was going to fly in from Seattle and sail for a while, maybe even sail her back home to the San Juan’s. Seems I just missed out. Anyway enjoy you new lovely boat.

Thanks Bill ... I did the same thing about 10 days ago... 3 days of juggling/brainstorming to get a plan together before anyone else snatched her up.

If you're in Key West anytime before next Easter, give me a shout, we'll go for a sail!

    Adam

ps- and thanks EVERYBODY for the well-wishes

Adam, don't I get some credit for spending the last 6 months throwing every known "Ariel For Sale" ad in the universe at you, until you finally gave in and bought one so I'd leave you alone?

LOL! Seriously, though - You'll have to stop in here at G-town on your way north, so "our gals" can sail together. I'll buy the beer, a bag of ice, and some of the best local shrimp in the world for the barbie. Maybe we can get Craig to come down - or maybe all of us meet in Southport, something like that...

Congrats to you and Frank - you got a great one, and Frank found Revival a great new owner.

I'll definitely look you up Kurt... yeah, you weren't very subtle about the Ariels, but it wasn't until I saw "Revival" that I could picture myself in one

Yeah, you get some partial credit

From the Book of Frank, Ch. 25.7:

"Let those among you who *couldn't* picture themselves in Revival be the first to get a Huntalinateau."
