Need some advice on how to cut into the deck to repair the core
I use a Dremel saw with the blade sit to 1/4" deep. Be careful not to cut too close to the toe rail. The outer skin and inner skin join there. I've attached a photo so you can see what I mean. Here is a link to a dropbox with a bunch of pictures of my deck recore project.

Thanks Phil. I’ve spent time looking at your restoration to try to absorb some of your expertise. Inspiring work by you and a bunch of others on here
I modernized some of my hardware. A single Spinlock XAS and Lewmar 7 on each side. The Spinlock were from my local marine consignment store and the Lewmars were from eBay. The original halyard setup on the Commander had terrible angles.
