    Ariel 242

I'm the proud new owner of Ariel #242 "Harp". She's my first "heavy" boat, and is moored in Beaufort NC. I bought it from my neighbor Josh ("animaljosh" on the forum) who is a mutual admirer of Alberg designs. From what I've found, she's was cared for in Emerald Isle the majority of her life, then was donated to the Sea Scouts program some years back. When the Westerbeke 10 started acting up, it sat for a few years, then was flipped to me on the cheap with the diesel and roller furling removed. This summer I am working on finding some used hank-on sails, paint the interior, find a good outboard to go in the well, and sail her as often as I can.

    More pics to come!

Welcome and congratulations on buying a very cool boat!!!!!

I have the old sails from Destiny that you might find usefull. I am willing to sell them for whatever you feel is a fair price to both of us. I have 3 headsails and a main. If you are interested I could measure them for you and send you pictures.

Thanks Jerry! I am definitely interested in your old sails, that would save me a lot of figuring. I will send you a private message.

Ouch! That really stinks. If nobody on the forum has some, you may have some luck with a consignment shop.

Here are a couple I have bookmarked:

    http://www.newportnautical.com/
    http://www.marineconsignment.com/

    Good luck!

Thanks for the links Mike. Mass Marine has one for the Ariel in stock, albeit a little more than I want to pay but its a start! I checked my local consignment shop to no avail, and checking in with the large shop in Oriental NC tomorrow.
Looks like another season of boatwork and dinghy sailing.

Whoops! I thought I was posting that on your Arthur Aftermath thread in regards to stanchions, but it works here too. And it looks like you may be in luck. As always, the folks on this forum come through!
