About Me

  1. Bart
Hi Ariel folks. I’m scheduled to haul my Ariel Hull’s #50 this Monday and just found out that the marina requires $300,000 of liability insurance. I can’t find any company that will insure a 60 year old boat. Any help would be greatly appreciated. She’s been a wonderful friend and has taken me to Cuba twice and to the Bahamas twice. I’d hate to let her go because I can’t get her hauled.
    Thanks

In doing a bottom job on my Ariel I noticed that the bronze strip which prevents the rudder from jumping off the bottom bushing has worn to half thickness. Does anyone have a lead on where to find a replacement? I can find Aluminum Bronze on Amazon, but it's 2' thick. Mine is 1/8" thick by 1" by 10". Also, do I need to heat the bronze before bending it to wrap around the rudder post? Thanks, Bart
