I've been reading and hearing alot of really bad impacts of this disaster affecting the west coast and ocean life in the Pacific. I was just wondering if you guys out there have seen any of the effects that I've read about and what is your outlook and opinions on it ? I'm very concearned and curious about the environmental impacts so far . And nothing I've read is promising. In my opinion I wish they had invested in solar and abandoned nuclear power when Jimmy Carter tried to push it after the 3 mile island meltdown in PA. On the Sesquehanna River which very well could've detroyed the Chesapeake Bay had it gone further. I read that Fukishima holds 500 times the fuel of Chernobyl in just 1 of their 6 plants. :(

I work in public safety in the San Luis Obispo area. We have been told to look for debris that may start washing up on our shores. We have been told not to worry about it much but we still will have environmental health come out and test it all. The news media is on the watch too. I would think after we get some samples to look at we will know more about the disaster. I personally don't think it will effect us much.
