So I'm new to this forum, and figured I'd post a couple pictures of our Commander, Commander 205. It's been in the family, and kept in the same inland lake in Upstate New York for the last 40 years. We are the second owners.
It's seen better days, but we are in the process of fixing things one by one, to try to improve the overall state of the boat.
Here are some pictures:

Welcome 205. Nice view from the slip. Worthy of such a good looking boat.
Welcome!
Beautiful boat! Great find... You even have the 'Commander' badges on the coamings!
That lake looks like a nice place to sail... Popular sailing venue? How is the breeze?
I noticed the second set of winches towards the stern... Are the bases original? I have not seen this before. Very nice.
Hopefully you'll post some sailing / adventure pictures to share on the board.

Welcome aboard C-205
As old as these boats are they all need some TLC (with the exception of Rico's and a few others here). I'm currently in the middle of a major refit for my commander #147. Yours looks like it might be in better condition than mine was when I bought her. But these boats are definitely worth the effort.
I like to think of the money I spend on Destiny (my commander) like this. If I take 1/10th the cost of a new Alerion 28 and put that money into Destiny I will have a boat that I will enjoy probably more than I would the Alerion. It will look just as good as the Alerion. It will sail very well. And I will have the other $225,000.00 to spend on something else. ;)
BTW my commander came with the same 4 winches that yours did. The two forward winches are a slightly differant model than the two aft winches so I assume they were installed at differant times.

The lake is incredible. Great water quality mixed with being surrounded by the picturesque Adirondack mountains explain why Lake George is called Queen of the American Lakes.
However the mountains make for some pretty variable winds. It's not unheard of to turn more than 180 degrees and remain on the same tack. There's a fair sized racing community (that we haven't participated in for a long time) and quite a lot of pleasure sailors, but jetskis and powerboats make up the majority of the boat traffic.
I'm told that the aft winches (and their bases) were installed by my grandfather in the late 70s to use with the spinnaker sheets.
We went out last night, and the wind was actually very good, here are a couple pictures:
