Hey kids--
The Mighty Houdini--the boat with the incredible engine-tuning, mast climbing XO, aka The Nearly Perfect Wife is now for sale. Houdini is in splendid condition. She is in the water in Kemah, TX (Galveston Bay complex) and is ready to go where ever you want to.
I went crazy and bought an Alberg 30....it's coming down from North Carolina and I'm gonna make her shine like the Hoo....Please help me send the Hoo to a good home (meaning someone who is obsessive about boat care.)
Asking $9500.00
Thanks all.

Craig's list ad from 09-21-2009:
http://houston.craigslist.org/boa/1385220218.html
From the ad:
Classic Pearson Ariel 26 - $6000 (Kemah, TX)
1967 Peason Ariel 26 in the water in Kemah. Good condition. Recent mainsail, recent life-lines, very well maintained, much loved cruiser. Roller-furler. New VHF radio. This is a sturdy, seaworthy classic sailboat, designed by the famous Carl Alberg. Excellent boat for those just learning to sail, who want easy maintenance, a forgiving boat, super-strong construction and a seakindly ride. She'll take you anywhere you want to go, as long as you have at least 4.5 feet of water to float her. Great owner association, with volumes on information about the care and feeding of these famous boats. Owner financing available for the right buyer. We'll take a ride after proper negotiations.

George,
I am confused as to the asking price. Craig's list says $6000 but your post here says $9500. Which is correct?
Thanks,
Marcelo
Marcelo,
Sorry for the confusion. This thread was originally posted on 08-29-2007, so the $9500 was George's original price. I noticed you were looking at Ariels recently, found one on Craig's list from Kemah, TX, and figured it was this one...
Just trying to help out - we don't like to see homeless Ariels and Commanders around here. :D

Mike,
I appreciate your help. Thanks for clearing this up for me. I originally contacted George through the ad on Craigslist and he is supposed to have an "open house" for propective buyers either this weekend or the next.

Houdini has a new home in New Orleans. I have her at the yard for a bottom job after being trucked from Houston. She will undergo a name change to Ad Astra. I am very excited to have her and can't wait to take her out. I will be joining and registering the association very soon.
Thanks for all your help,
Marcelo
Hey that's great! Merry Xmas!! Houdini, (Eh hem!) I mean, Ad Astra is a fine looking Ariel and I'm sure she'll bring you many years of good memories and fun.
Now, start an Ad Astra Gallery thread and bring us all up to date. Congrats!
