Here are Mom & Dad Garhaur. The whole family works in the business. One of the sons at the show said they all get along just great -- probably because of all the drinking they do on Friday night :D (Just kidding, he added.)

FYI - Ebb spent a bundle with the Garhaur's today! Got two quad sets of rope clutches and ordered a rigid vang. Was also looking longingly at some blocks, travelers and line organizers, but decided he should first have an idea where they are needed. ;)

I wouldn't buy a block from anyone else... I love Gaurhauer products, and the people are great to work with too.

Yes, I agree with you, Scott. They are great people to work with, and, somehow they have become the exclusive hardware supplier of #113. I even called them and asked if they would consider making a headsail furler! I got a polite,"No."

Ebb, you know that dollar for dollar it is probably the the most substantial hardware out there. At the very least it is the best that I've found. (for what that's worth)

I knew that they had nice stuff,

I wish I had known that you could order online, direct from them.

The link is; http://garhauermarine.com/index.cfm

I would have saved on the cheek blocks I just bought for the new reefing system, as well as getting better genoa slides/blocks.

Which block combo has everyone used for their traveler set up?

I have a big piece of Schafer track, and a Schafer car. I am not planning to use line control, but rather adust the position with stoppers.

I need a 4:1 (?) block system for the mainsheet.

Looks like one of these; http://garhauermarine.com/images/product/30-08_sl.jpg

30-08 SL - Stainless Steel Lite Blocks

With one of these ?

Do these look like the right ones?

The one on top seems upside-down somehow? http://www.pearsonariel.org/discussion/images/smilies/confused.gif

The 25 series is plenty strong.

I would go with a regular shackle instead of a snap shackle. I don't trust them enough.

When I spoke to Garhauer, the rep told me that one block should swivel and one should be fixed (can't remember which one should swivel). They can turn swivel blocks into fixed ones easily.

I haven't ordered my blocks yet.

Here's a little diagram
